While You R Out...

While you art lovers are out and about checking things out, stop by FastFrames in Greenbrier. Two, Blue Eggs are featured in the shop, Dawn Jacob and Susanna Wilson. Nice work, Eggs!

Dancer Picture Complete

Cathleen Waldrop wanted to share with the other Eggs her finally completed pastel painting, "Longing to Dance". What do the Eggs think?

Blue Egg Omelet

Once again the Blue Eggs gathered. The heat was on at the home of pastel artist, Cathleen Waldrop. Eunice Holland's brush soothes the canvas with images of musical notes. Susanna Wilson's graphite sketch hit a home run. Sheila Robinson's new adventure began on canvas. Ridgley Nash's wise intuition continued to encourage the creativity. Dawn Jacob's fast brush whisked closer to completing another creation. And, as always, Jessie Schmitt was channelled to enhance creativity while Laura Gibbs was excused to participate in a workshop to paper herself in collage. Are we cracked or cracked up? Until neggst time...

More Awards for "The Blue Eggs"

The 2008 Senior Art Fest awarded Eunice Holland first place for her oil, "Signs of Poverty." She also earned an Honorable Mention for "Red Hatters," the second of the three paintings that she submitted.
Susanna Wilson's work was honored by the judges as well: she won second place for her graphite and charcoal drawing, "A Brother Moment."
All those who viewed the three-week show were given the opportunity to vote for those works which they considered the best. Both Eunice's "Signs.." and Susanna's "..Brother.." won the "People's Choice" awards!

"Artist of the Month"

The Chesapeake Bay Art Association named Susanna Wilson,(a"Blue Egg), as May's "Artist of the Month." Here she is shown in her booth at the Gosport Art Festival May 12, 2008.

Commissions Completed

These commissions were completed last week and sent to Atlanta for a June birthday surprise. They will hang in an office at the North America Mission Board.  Can't wait to hear what the recipient has to say!

In the Throws of Shows

The Blue Eggs are in the throws of shows at the moment.  Despite threatening weather this past weekend, the Eggs who were a part of Gosport Art Festival in old town Portsmouth did well and stayed dry.  The Eggs are also showing well in the Senior Show with abundant awards--1st, 2nd and honorable mention.  You Eggs are eggtra special!  A few Eggs will be at Stockley Gardens this weekend--don't forget to check them out!  Stay tuned for future eggvents! 

Blue Eggs' Art is showing up in many local shows--Chesapeake Arts Festival, Art on the Square, Norfolk Academy, Gosport, and Stockley Gardens.  They have even been spotted in the Portfolio paper.  When searching for unique, fine art, be sure to look for one of the Blue Eggs.  See you around!
